Current Situation

The World Economic Forum’s Global Risk Report 2020 considers information infrastructure breakdown and large-scale cyberattacks to be among the topmost impactful risks for the years until 2030. Financial market infrastructures across the globe are at risk. There is a massive potential for disruption of critical financial services, with barely predictable cumulative risks. Cyberattacks are constantly evolving, increasing in severity, and spreading. Highly sophisticated, targeted attacks are accompanied by a growing number of opportunistic attacks, as witnessed in the recent years. Financial institutions are called upon to invest in cyber defense in order to address these threats.
