Andreas Müller is Assistant Professor in International Economics at the University of Basel. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Zurich. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and his research has been published in top academic journals.
Expertise
Professor Müller’s main research interests are in international macroeconomics and finance. His most recent research examines the macroeconomic and financial consequences of high sovereign debt levels. In particular, how sovereign debt overhang deters the implementation of structural reforms subject to moral hazard; exacerbates sovereign default risk in political environments; and creates fiscal pressure on public spending related to population ageing and structural change.
