Publications
SFI’s ambition is to guarantee the best environment for its researchers and to develop synergies between researchers and practitioners with the goal of ensuring the best orientation of the sponsored research. SFI’s research output is made available to SFI’s supporting community and interested parties through various publications.
Academic Publications
SFI strives for a top-ranking position among the research institutes of finance in Europe. The SFI Faculty’s research is recognized internationally due to the significant number of publications in top academic journals, i.e., those journals that historically have been first in promoting the ideas that have changed financial practices. Academic excellence is guaranteed by the SFI Scientific Council, an independent committee composed of internationally-renowned professors of banking and finance from around the world. The committee advises the SFI Foundation Board on all matters where scientific criteria predominate and plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the respect of academic freedom and scientific integrity.
SFI Faculty Publications in Major Journals
The Scientific Council of SFI explicitly recognizes The Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Finance (submissions as of June 2018), and The Review of Financial Studies as well as five economics journals (American Economic Review, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics and The Review of Economic Studies) as major journals. While the scientific council also recognizes major publications published in other academic journals, the current list is restricted to publications in the above-named top journals.
Working Papers
SFI has a working paper series called the SFI Research Paper Series to disseminate original theoretical or empirical research with relevance to banking and finance. The series includes research contributions carried out at SFI by faculty, PhD students and affiliated researchers.Paper submissions should be sent to RPS@sfi.ch and must include the paper, a short abstract, keywords, JEL classification, and the author's affiliation. Please contact RPS@sfi.ch in case of any questions on the series.
Occasional Papers
The Occasional Paper Series of Swiss Finance Institute welcomes all forms of submissions contributed by members of Swiss Finance Institute community in view of stimulating the intellectual debate in the Institute’s domains of activity. We particularly welcome material addressing timely topics. The opinions expressed in the Occasional Paper Series are those of the authors, not those of Swiss Finance Institute or of any of its sponsors.
