Do you want to know how global financial markets work? Do you want to become knowledgeable regarding different asset classes, master the investment management process, and know how to build up an investment portfolio? Then you are a candidate for the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) "Make Smart Investment Decisions in a Global World", offered by the University of Geneva.

The reach of publicly open online courses is on the rise—and SFI faculty is engaging with this mode of education too. The Tribune de Genève examined the MOOCs offered by University of Geneva and found out that the one on investment management—designed by SFI professors Tony BerradaInes ChaiebMartin HoesliPhilipp KrügerKerstin PreuschoffOlivier Scaillet, and other colleagues—is the most popular, experiencing remarkable success since its launch in 2016:

  • It has won a gold medal from Coursera (the global market leader in digital learning) for becoming one of the six most-followed out of more than 850 online business courses worldwide.
  • It has attracted almost 250,000 visitors to date, and roughly 65,000 active learners from all over the world are currently enrolled in its 5-year program.
  • It is among the top-rated courses, rated 4.7 out of 5 and with 93 percent participant likes.
