SFI Senior Chair Ruediger Fahlenbrach named Research Member of European Corporate Governance Institute

The European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), an international non-profit association focusing on corporate governance, has appointed Ruediger Fahlenbrach, Professor of Finance at EPFL and holder of an SFI senior chair, as a research member. The ECGI aims to reinforce corporate governance by creating an interdisciplinary network of experts and presenting the newest research.

ECGI was founded in 2002. It was established to improve the understanding of corporate governance based on high-quality, independent scientific research, and related activities. Corporate governance balances corporate, economic, and social goals with community and individual interests. It brings together a critical mass of expertise from different disciplines, such as economics, law, finance, and management. The ECGI includes almost 200 ordinary and academic members each as well as more than 160 ECGI Fellows and Research Associates. Ruediger joins current Managing Director Francois Degeorge, former Managing Director Claudio Loderer, Head of Research Jean-Charles Rochet and Junior Chair Alexander Wagner, René Stulz, Chairman of the Scientific Coucil and Patrick Bolton, Member of the Scientific Council in the ranks of ECGI research members.
