From payments all the way to asset management, digitization is transforming finance. Combining academic and business perspectives, the SFI Annual Meeting will discuss the trends and implications of digitization in the financial world. Does digitization reduce or increase frictions in the financial system? Can we create a decentralized system of financial intermediation, and is this desirable? How far will generative AI transform finance, and how should we grasp the opportunities and manage the risks?

The Annual Meeting of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) is one of the leading events in the Swiss financial community’s calendar and an exclusive discussion platform. It brings together the finest minds in academia and key financial market players. The widely respected event enables practitioners and academics to exchange the knowledge and expertise that will keep Switzerland at the top in banking and finance.

This year, we are pleased to welcome Prof. David Yermack, Albert Fingerhut Professor of Finance and Business Transformation, New York University’s Stern School of Business, Ms. Päivi Rekonen, Chair of the Board of Directors, AMINA Bank and Mr. Jos Dijsselhof, Chief Executive Officer at SIX, as keynote speakers. Prof. Fabian Schär, Professor for Distributed Ledger Technology & Fintech, University of Basel, will join the panel discussion.

The event will be moderated by Carolin Roth, business journalist.

This year's Annual Meeting will be held as an on-site event at Lake Side in Zurich. Attendance is free of charge. Please note that this is a public event, and that parts will be filmed and photos will be taken for marketing purposes.
