SFI Evening Seminar with Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan
Swiss Finance Institute is pleased to invite you to its last SFI Evening Seminar this year in Zurich.
Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan, the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy's Munich Center for the Economics of Aging.
Aging Societies: A Danger for Societal Cohesion and Economic Prosperity?
- Health has improved enormously; hence, the experience of older workers is an important resource that can be much better exploited than we currently do
- Productivity does not decline with age, contrary to what many people think. Evidence from normal jobs shows that productivity barely changes with age, even increasing slightly.
- There are no indications that aging fosters intergenerational tensions. Evidence shows that cohesion is unrelated to the proportion of older individuals across Europe.
